Resident Sex EducatorSAM HERMAN
Sam (she/her) is a certified Sex Educator and Kink-Informed Specialist certified through the Sexual Health Alliance. As a queer neurodivergent professional, Sam brings a thoughtful, inclusive perspective to her work and is passionate about creating welcoming, affirming spaces for people of diverse identities and relationship styles.
Her professional background is vast, including experience teaching high school mathematics and psychology, designing educational curricula, and supporting educators as they transitioned from in-person to online learning during the early stages of the pandemic. She has also worked as a yoga and meditation instructor, bringing a holistic approach to communication, mindfulness, and personal growth.
As a trained intimacy coordinator, Sam enjoys exploring the intersection of creativity, communication, and consent in film and performance. She is dedicated to promoting healthy conversations around intimacy, boundaries, and self-awareness while encouraging curiosity, authenticity, and respect in relationships.
Sam has extensive knowledge of BDSM, kink, and consensual power exchange spaces and is an advocate for consent education and community-building. She is particularly passionate about helping people develop the communication skills and knowledge needed to engage in these practices safely, ethically, and confidently.
While Sam is not a therapist or counselor, she recognizes the importance of accessible education that complements therapeutic work with practical, real-world guidance. She is committed to reducing stigma surrounding sexuality, kink, and consensual non-monogamy by providing evidence-informed education, supportive resources, and inclusive conversations. She also advocates for more accurate, consent-centered portrayals of intimacy and relationships in media and culture.
